To,
The Commissioner,
Municipal Corporation, Amarnagar
Subject: Complaint: blocked sewer in Street No. 4, Basant Vihar (Ward No. 12)
Sir/Madam,
I am a resident of House No. 7, Basant Vihar, Amarnagar (property ID 000-000-0007).
I wish to bring to your notice that the sewer in Street No. 4, Basant Vihar (Ward No. 12) has been blocked and overflowing since 28-09-2026. Dirty water has collected in the street and is entering the houses at the lower end.
This is causing great hardship to the residents and is a risk to their health. It was reported earlier (helpline complaint No. 000000 dated 01-10-2026), but nothing has been done so far. Kindly have it set right at the earliest.
The residents named below join in this application.

What to bring
Papers to bring
- Proof of ownership or occupation: the sale deed or allotment letter, or the rent agreement with the owner's consent
- The latest property tax receipt with the property ID, and the last water and sewer bill
- Your Aadhaar card or another photo identity proof (photocopy; the original to show)
- For a connection: the approved building plan or completion papers where the office asks, and the licensed plumber's details
- For a correction: proof of the correct particulars (the deed, a measurement or the name proof)
- For a complaint: dated photographs of the problem, and the number of any earlier complaint
Where to go
At the municipal office (the Commissioner's office in a corporation, the Executive Officer's in a council, committee or nagar panchayat), or on the state's municipal services portal (in Punjab, mSeva); complaints also go to the civic helpline.
Fee
Connection, correction and NOC charges are fixed by the municipality; ask the office or see the portal. There is usually no fee for a complaint.
Good to know
- Clear the property tax and the water and sewer bills first: an NOC or a new connection is usually refused while dues are pending.
- Have a connection laid only after it is sanctioned, by a plumber the municipality has licensed.
- Neighbours affected by the same problem can sign the same complaint.
- Keep a copy with the office's receiving stamp, or the complaint or diary number, to follow it up.
Papers and fees can change. Check with the office before you go. Guidance only, not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
