What to bring

- A description: height, build, complexion, clothes last worn, marks, and any illness or medicines
- Their mobile number and social media accounts, and the names and numbers of friends and places they may go
- Your identity proof, and the missing person's Aadhaar or other identity proof if available
Where to go
Go to the nearest police station at once; there is no 24-hour wait. Give the police the photographs and ask for the report or FIR number.

There is no fee for giving a complaint to the police.
Good to know
- For a missing child, the police are expected to register an FIR at once; you can also call 1098 (child helpline) or 112.
- Check with hospitals, relatives and friends, and tell the police at once if the person comes back.
