3.That my own income from all sources is ₹18,000 (Rupees Eighteen Thousand only) a year, which is within the limit fixed by the scheme.
4.That I am not in the service of the Central or a State Government, a local body, or a board, corporation or other body of the Government, and I draw no pension from any of them. I am not receiving any other pension or financial help under any scheme of the Central or a State Government.

What to bring
Papers to bring
- Your Aadhaar card (photocopy; the original to show); in Haryana, the Family ID (Parivar Pehchan Patra) number
- Proof of age: the birth or matriculation certificate, the voter card or another record the office accepts
- For a widow pension, the husband's death certificate; for a disability pension, the disability certificate or UDID card
- Proof of residence and of income, as the form asks
- The passbook of your own bank or post-office account, linked with Aadhaar
- Two recent passport-size photographs
Where to go
Sworn before an Oath Commissioner or Notary, or made as a self-declaration where the office accepts it, then filed with the pension application: at the Sewa Kendra in Punjab, at a Saral Kendra or the district social welfare office in Haryana, and with the Social Welfare Department in Chandigarh.
Fee
There is no fee for the pension. An affidavit made only to receive a pension is usually free of stamp duty; the attestation fee is paid at the counter. Ask there for today's amounts.
Good to know
- The age, income and residence conditions are set by each scheme and change; the office checks them, so write the true figures.
- Tell the office at once of any change in income, residence or circumstances (such as remarriage, for a widow pension); money paid wrongly is recovered.
- Pensions are paid by direct transfer: keep the account active and linked with Aadhaar.
Papers and fees can change. Check with the office before you go. Guidance only, not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
Stamp paper
Punjab: affidavits are usually typed on e-stamp paper (buy it at an authorised e-stamp centre; check the current duty there) and sworn before an Oath Commissioner or Notary. Many state services now accept a self-declaration instead.
Haryana: use e-stamp paper (egrashry / authorised vendors; check the current duty) and swear before an Oath Commissioner or Notary.
Chandigarh: e-stamp paper from an authorised centre (check the current duty); sworn before an Oath Commissioner or Notary.
