Where to go
Sworn before an Oath Commissioner or Notary, then filed with the application for appointment in the department or office where the employee worked, usually to the head of that office.
Fee
The e-Stamp paper and the Oath Commissioner's or Notary's fee are paid at the counter; ask there for today's amounts.
Good to know
- Apply within the time the department's policy allows; it differs between the Centre, Punjab, Haryana and the boards.
- Compassionate appointment is not given as of right: the department weighs the family's need under its policy.
- If appointed, look after the dependants as the affidavit promises; neglect can lead to action under the rules.
Papers and fees can change. Check with the office before you go. Guidance only, not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
