1.That I am the absolute owner of House No. 45, Gulab Colony, Amarnagar, measuring 150 square yards by virtue of sale deed No. 2345 dated 04-05-2012 registered at Sub-Registrar Amarnagar, and it is in my peaceful physical possession.

What to bring
Papers to bring
- Aadhaar card or another photo identity proof (photocopy; the original to show)
- The title deed: sale deed, gift deed, transfer or allotment letter (photocopy; the original to show)
- For land, the latest jamabandi (fard) and the mutation; for a house or plot, the latest property-tax receipt
- The latest electricity bill, as proof of possession
- A search report or non-encumbrance certificate, if the bank or buyer asks (usually got through a lawyer or the Sub-Registrar's office)
Where to go
Sworn before an Oath Commissioner or Notary, then given with the title papers to the bank, the buyer, the development authority or the tehsil.
Fee
The e-Stamp paper and the Oath Commissioner's or Notary's fee are paid at the counter; ask there for today's amounts.
Good to know
- This affidavit does not prove title by itself: the bank or buyer still checks the registered deeds and the revenue record.
- If there is a loan, mortgage or agreement to sell on the property, do not sign it as it stands: the affidavit says there is none.
- For jointly owned property, each co-owner usually gives an affidavit, or all sign one.
Papers and fees can change. Check with the office before you go. Guidance only, not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
Stamp paper
Punjab: affidavits are usually typed on e-stamp paper (buy it at an authorised e-stamp centre; check the current duty there) and sworn before an Oath Commissioner or Notary. Many state services now accept a self-declaration instead.
Haryana: use e-stamp paper (egrashry / authorised vendors; check the current duty) and swear before an Oath Commissioner or Notary.
Chandigarh: e-stamp paper from an authorised centre (check the current duty); sworn before an Oath Commissioner or Notary.
