What to bring
Papers to bring
- The notice you received, with its envelope (the postmark shows when it came)
- Every paper that supports your side, and earlier letters or messages between you
- A note of each point in the notice that you accept, deny or want to explain
Where to go
Sent by your advocate, or by you, to the person or advocate who sent the notice, by registered post AD or speed post, usually within the time the notice gives.
Fee
No stamp paper or court fee is needed for a notice: you pay the postage, and the advocate's fee if an advocate sends it.
Good to know
- Answer each point; admit nothing you do not mean, and keep the reply consistent with your papers.
- Keep the postal receipts, the tracking report and the AD card or the returned envelope (unopened): a later case needs them to prove the notice.
Papers and fees can change. Check with the office before you go. Guidance only, not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
Stamp paper
Plain paper is enough.
