What to bring
Papers to bring
- The builder-buyer agreement and the allotment letter
- Every payment receipt, and the bank statements showing the payments
- The project's RERA registration number, and the builder's demand letters and other correspondence
- The builder's full name and registered office address
Where to go
Signed by you, or by your advocate for you, and sent by registered post with acknowledgment due (AD) or speed post to every address of the other side that you know; e-mail or WhatsApp can be added.
Fee
No stamp paper or court fee is needed for a notice: you pay the postage, and the advocate's fee if an advocate sends it.
Good to know
- Check the project's registration on the state RERA website; Haryana has two authorities, at Gurugram and at Panchkula.
- A complaint can then go to the RERA authority or the Consumer Commission; ask your lawyer which suits your case.
- Keep the postal receipts, the tracking report and the AD card or the returned envelope (unopened): a later case needs them to prove the notice.
Papers and fees can change. Check with the office before you go. Guidance only, not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
Stamp paper
Plain paper is enough.
