What to bring
Papers to bring
- The public notice itself, made in the app (for example "Public notice: change of name")
- Your identity proof (photocopy); for some notices the newspaper also asks for an affidavit or an authority letter
- The newspaper's name, the edition and the date you want it published
Where to go
Given at the newspaper's advertisement office or to an authorised advertising agent, or e-mailed where the paper accepts it; get a receipt for the booking.
Fee
The newspaper charges for the space; ask its advertisement office or an agent for today's rate. No stamp paper is needed.
Good to know
- Keep the full newspaper pages, with the paper's name and date, not only the cutting: offices often ask to see them.
- Choose the paper the office asks for: many want one English and one Hindi or Punjabi newspaper read in your area.
- Check the proof before it prints: names and numbers must match your documents exactly.
Papers and fees can change. Check with the office before you go. Guidance only, not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
Stamp paper
Plain paper is enough.
