LEAVE AND LICENCE AGREEMENT
This agreement is made and executed at Amarnagar on 12 October 2026 by and between:
Rohan Kumar son of Shri Om Prakash, aged about 37 years, resident of House No. 12, Street No. 3, Nanak Nagar, Amarnagar, Tehsil and District Amarnagar, Punjab (hereinafter called the "LICENSOR", which expression shall, unless repugnant to the context, include his heirs, legal representatives and assigns) of the FIRST PART.
AND
Neha Verma wife of Shri Anil Verma, aged about 28 years, resident of House No. 204, Sector 9, Shantipur, District Shantipur, Haryana (hereinafter called the "LICENSEE", which expression shall, unless repugnant to the context, include her heirs, legal representatives and assigns) of the SECOND PART.
NOW THIS DEED WITNESSETH AND THE PARTIES HEREBY AGREE AS UNDER:
1.That the Licensor permits the Licensee to use the premises described in the schedule below (the "premises") for 11 months from 15-11-2026, on leave and licence, for residence only.
2.That this agreement creates only a licence. It does not create any tenancy, lease or other interest in the premises, and the Licensor's legal possession continues throughout.

What to bring
Papers to bring
- The owner's identity proof, and proof of ownership or of the right to let, such as the sale deed, the property-tax receipt or an electricity bill
- The licensee's Aadhaar card or another photo identity proof, permanent address and two photographs
- Proof of the security deposit paid, such as the bank transfer record, and the meter readings on the first day
- Two witnesses, each with an identity proof
Where to go
Signed by both, usually on e-Stamp paper, before two witnesses; many also have it attested by a Notary. A short licence is usually not registered; ask the Sub-Registrar about a long one.
Fee
The e-Stamp duty follows the state's schedule, worked out from the licence fee and the deposit; the Notary's fee is paid at the counter. Ask there for today's amounts.
Good to know
- Have the licensee verified by the police, as for a tenant: see "Tenant or domestic-help verification letter".
- A licence depends on what is really agreed, not on its name: if the occupant gets exclusive possession like a tenant, a court may treat it as a tenancy; ask a lawyer.
- Note the premises' condition and the meter readings on the first day, with photographs; it avoids arguments over the deposit later.
Papers and fees can change. Check with the office before you go. Guidance only, not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
Stamp paper
Deeds and agreements carry stamp duty that depends on the state, the document and its value; some must be registered with the Sub-Registrar. Check the current duty and registration rules before printing on stamp paper.
