How the paper begins
With Dastavo's sample details; the people and places are fictional. The words in blue are the ones you fill in.
NO-OBJECTION CERTIFICATE AND CONSENT
I, Vikram Singh son of Shri Harbans Singh, aged about 52 years, resident of House No. 45, Gulab Colony, Amarnagar, Tehsil and District Amarnagar, Punjab, am the owner of Shop No. 3, Main Bazaar, Amarnagar (the "premises").
I have let out the premises to Sharma Hardware, through its proprietor Kabir Sharma son of Shri Dev Sharma, aged about 44 years, resident of House No. 7, Basant Vihar, Amarnagar, Tehsil and District Amarnagar, Punjab under a rent agreement dated 01-10-2026.
I have no objection to the premises being used by Sharma Hardware for the retail and wholesale trade in hardware, and I consent to the premises being shown as its principal place of business for GST registration, shop registration and a current account with Amar Bank.
This consent is for that use only, and gives no one any right, title or interest in the premises beyond the tenancy. When the business leaves the premises, the address shall be changed or the registration surrendered, and I may inform the authorities concerned.
A copy of sale deed No. 2214 dated 12-05-2011 and the latest property tax receipt is attached as proof of my ownership.

What to bring
Papers to bring
- The owner's identity proof (photocopy; the original to show)
- Proof of ownership: the registry, the latest property-tax receipt, the jamabandi (fard) or the allotment letter
- A recent electricity or water bill of the premises: the GST portal and banks usually ask for one
- The rent agreement, if the premises are let
- The business's name and the registrations or accounts it is for (GST, shop and establishment, a company's registered office, bank)
Where to go
Signed by the owner (every co-owner, if more than one) and given to the business, which uploads it with its GST, company or other registration or gives it to the bank. Plain paper is usually enough; some offices and banks want it on stamp paper attested by a Notary.
Fee
No fee on plain paper; if the office or bank wants stamp paper or a Notary, the e-Stamp paper and the Notary's fee are paid at the counter. Ask there for today's amounts.
Good to know
- For a company's or LLP's registered office, the filing with the Registrar of Companies also needs a recent utility bill with this consent; keep both ready.
- The consent gives no right in the premises beyond the use stated; when the business leaves, ask it in writing to change its address or surrender the registration.
- For jointly owned premises, every co-owner should sign, or give "No-objection certificate from a co-owner".
Papers and fees can change. Check with the office before you go. Guidance only, not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
Stamp paper
Usually on plain paper signed by the owner; some offices and banks ask for stamp paper or a notary. Attach the proof of ownership.
