BEFORE THE District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Amarnagar
Versus
COMPLAINT UNDER SECTION 35 OF THE CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT, 2019
Respectfully Showeth:
1.That the complainant bought a double-door refrigerator from the opposite party on 14-07-2026 for ₹38,500 (Rupees Thirty-Eight Thousand Five Hundred only), for personal use and not for any commercial purpose, and is a consumer under Section 2(7) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
2.That it stopped cooling within three weeks, and the opposite party failed to repair or replace it despite two visits by its mechanic. This amounts to a deficiency in service, a defect in goods, or an unfair trade practice under Section 2 of the Act.
3.That the complainant sent a legal notice on 10-09-2026, but the opposite party has not set the matter right.

What to bring
Papers to bring
- The bill or invoice, the warranty card and any booking or agreement papers

- Your legal notice with its postal receipts and any reply: see "Consumer notice before a complaint"
- Aadhaar card or another photo identity proof, with proof of the present address (photocopies; the originals to show)

Where to go
Filed in the District Consumer Commission where you live or work, where the opposite party is, or where the matter arose: in person, through an advocate, or online on e-Daakhil. No advocate is needed.
Fee
No fee for smaller claims; above that, a fee in slabs set by the consumer rules, paid online on e-Daakhil or by demand draft. Ask the Commission's office for today's slab.
Good to know
- File within two years of the problem arising (s.69); a late complaint needs an application explaining the delay.
- Bring the originals to every hearing; the Commission may also send the case to mediation if both sides agree.
Papers and fees can change. Check with the office before you go. Guidance only, not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
Stamp paper
Court fee and welfare stamps, where needed, are affixed as the court office directs.
