VERIFICATION CERTIFICATE
To
The Passport Officer,
Regional Passport Office, Amarnagar
Certified that I have known Simran Kaur daughter of Shri Gurdev Singh, aged about 19 years, resident of House No. 88, Model Town, Amarnagar, Tehsil and District Amarnagar, Punjab, whose photograph is pasted above, since 2025, as a student of the college where I am the Principal. She is not related to me.
To the best of my knowledge she is a citizen of India. The particulars she has given in her passport application (file No. AM0000000000002), including her name, date of birth (23-01-2007) and address, are correct to my knowledge.
Nothing has come to my notice that would make her unfit to hold an Indian passport, and I recommend that a passport be issued to her.
I hold the post of Principal in Government College, Amarnagar, and I give this certificate from my own knowledge.

Signed by the officer, on plain paper or the officer's letterhead with the official seal, and across the applicant's photograph; the applicant takes the original to the Passport Seva Kendra on the appointment day.
Fee
The certificate needs no stamp paper and no fee; the passport fee, with the Tatkaal fee, is paid online when you book the appointment. Check the amounts on the Passport Seva website.
Good to know
- Check first whether the passport office still asks for this certificate for your Tatkaal application.
- Only the officers the passport office lists may sign, and its format changes; check both on the Passport Seva website before you go to the officer.
- The officer must know the applicant personally; write the true "known since" and the capacity.
Papers and fees can change. Check with the office before you go. Guidance only, not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
Stamp paper
Plain paper or the officer's letterhead, signed with the official seal. The officer attests the applicant's photograph by signing across it.
