IN THE COURT OF Judicial Magistrate First Class, Amarnagar
FIR No. 101 of 2026
Versus
SURETY AFFIDAVIT AND BOND
I, Vikram Singh son of Shri Harbans Singh, aged about 52 years, resident of House No. 45, Gulab Colony, Amarnagar, Tehsil and District Amarnagar, Punjab, do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as under:
1.That I offer myself as surety for the accused Rohan Kumar in the above case, in the sum of ₹50,000 (Rupees Fifty Thousand only).
2.That I own House No. 45, Gulab Colony, Amarnagar, which is free from all encumbrances and is worth more than the bond amount, and I shall not sell or encumber it while the bond is in force.
3.That I have not stood surety for any other accused in any pending case.
4.That I undertake to produce the accused before the Court whenever required, failing which the bond amount may be forfeited to the State.
DEPONENT
VERIFICATION: Verified at Amarnagar on this 12th day of October 2026 that the contents of paragraphs 1 to 4 of the above affidavit are true and correct to the best of my knowledge and belief, and nothing material has been concealed therein.

What to bring
Papers to bring
- The surety's Aadhaar card or another photo identity proof, with proof of the present address (photocopies; the originals to show)
- Proof of the property offered: a recent jamabandi (fard) of the land, the registered deed of a house, or a vehicle's RC, as the court accepts
- Two recent passport-size photographs of the surety
- A copy of the bail order, and the accused's full name and case details
Where to go
The affidavit is sworn before the Oath Commissioner at the court complex; the surety then appears before the court (or the Duty Magistrate it names), which checks the surety and the property, sometimes through the Patwari or the police, and accepts the bond.
Fee
Bail and personal bonds are usually given on the court's printed form; ask the court's office or your advocate whether any stamp or fee is needed.
Good to know
- A surety must make sure the accused appears: if not, the bond amount can be forfeited and recovered from the surety, even from the property offered.
- Do not sell or mortgage the property while the bond is in force; a surety can later ask the court to be discharged.
Papers and fees can change. Check with the office before you go. Guidance only, not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
Stamp paper
Punjab: affidavits are usually typed on e-stamp paper (buy it at an authorised e-stamp centre; check the current duty there) and sworn before an Oath Commissioner or Notary. Many state services now accept a self-declaration instead.
Haryana: use e-stamp paper (egrashry / authorised vendors; check the current duty) and swear before an Oath Commissioner or Notary.
Chandigarh: e-stamp paper from an authorised centre (check the current duty); sworn before an Oath Commissioner or Notary.
