DEED OF GUARANTEE
This deed of guarantee is made and executed at Amarnagar on 12 October 2026 by and between:
Gurdev Singh son of Shri Karnail Singh, aged about 48 years, resident of House No. 88, Model Town, Amarnagar, Tehsil and District Amarnagar, Punjab (hereinafter called the "GUARANTOR", which expression shall, unless repugnant to the context, include his heirs, legal representatives and assigns) of the FIRST PART.
AND
Vikram Singh son of Shri Harbans Singh, aged about 52 years, resident of House No. 45, Gulab Colony, Amarnagar, Tehsil and District Amarnagar, Punjab (hereinafter called the "CREDITOR", which expression shall, unless repugnant to the context, include his heirs, legal representatives and assigns) of the SECOND PART.
NOW THIS DEED WITNESSETH AND THE PARTIES HEREBY AGREE AS UNDER:
1.That at the request of the Guarantor, the Creditor has lent ₹4,00,000 (Rupees Four Lakh only) to Anil Verma son of Shri Ramesh Verma, aged about 31 years, resident of House No. 204, Sector 9, Shantipur, District Shantipur, Haryana (the "Borrower") for buying a tractor.
2.That in consideration of that loan, the Guarantor guarantees the repayment of the loan with interest and costs by the Borrower, up to a limit of ₹4,00,000 (Rupees Four Lakh only), and if the Borrower defaults, the Guarantor shall pay the Creditor on demand.

What to bring
Papers to bring
- Identity proof and PAN of the guarantor, the lender and the borrower (photocopies)
- The loan agreement or sanction letter, showing the amount, interest and repayment terms
- The guarantor's proof of income or property, if the lender asks
- Two witnesses, each with an identity proof
Where to go
Signed by the guarantor (and the lender) before two witnesses, on e-Stamp paper; banks usually have it signed on their own format at the branch. A guarantee of this kind is usually not registered.
Fee
Stamp duty on a guarantee follows the state's schedule; ask the e-Stamp centre before buying. The Notary's fee, if it is attested, is paid at the counter.
Good to know
- A guarantor is liable as much as the borrower, and the lender can ask you to pay without first suing the borrower.
- Ending a continuing guarantee by notice stops it only for future loans: you stay liable for what was already lent.
- Read the loan terms before signing: you guarantee the interest and costs too.
Papers and fees can change. Check with the office before you go. Guidance only, not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
Stamp paper
Indemnity bonds and guarantees carry stamp duty that depends on the state and the amount; banks and boards often prescribe their own format. Check before printing.
