IN THE COURT OF Civil Judge (Junior Division), Amarnagar
Civil Suit No. 412 of 2025
Versus
APPLICATION FOR ADJOURNMENT
Respectfully Showeth:
1.That the above case is pending before this Hon'ble Court and is fixed for 20-10-2026 for evidence of the applicant.
2.That the applicant is unwell and has been advised bed rest for a week, and so the applicant is unable to attend the Court on that date.
3.That a copy of the medical certificate is attached with this application.
4.That the absence is neither intentional nor meant to delay the case, and the opposite party will not be prejudiced if the hearing is adjourned.
PRAYER:
It is, therefore, respectfully prayed that the hearing fixed for 20-10-2026 may kindly be adjourned to a date convenient to this Hon'ble Court.
Any other relief which this Hon'ble Court deems fit may also be granted in the interest of justice.

What to bring
Papers to bring
- Proof of the reason, with dates: a medical certificate with the doctor's registration number, hospital papers, a ticket or an office letter
- The main case: its number and year, the court, the names of the parties and the next date
- The vakalatnama, if your advocate has not filed one in this case yet
Where to go
Usually moved by your advocate in court on the date itself, or filed a day before, under the main case's number; the court decides it then and there.
Fee
Court fee and welfare stamps, where needed, are put on as the court office directs; ask the counter for today's amounts. The advocate's fee is separate.
Good to know
- The court may refuse, or allow it only on costs; in a civil suit a party usually gets no more than three adjournments (Order XVII Rule 1).
- Ask your advocate for the next date the same day: a missed date can lead to dismissal, ex-parte proceedings or, in a criminal case, a warrant.
Papers and fees can change. Check with the office before you go. Guidance only, not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
Stamp paper
Court fee and welfare stamps, where needed, are affixed as the court office directs.
